In the matter of BG vs SPACE54, the Court held in favor of the Plaintiff and against SPACE54 for failing to return all the monies to a family who had contracted to hold a bar-mitzvah but whose event could not legally take place due to COVID restrictions enacted by Governor Cuomo. Due to SPACE54’s wrongdoing, the defendant will be required to return all the monies paid by the plaintiff plus statutory interest, together with costs and disbursements.

NEW SUIT – CLASS ACTION Robinhood, a stock trading app, was hit with a data breach class action Wednesday in New York Eastern District Court. The suit was filed by Held & Hines on behalf of current and former customers who allege that Robinhood failed to safeguard their personal information. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant.
