NYC Construction Regulations Proposals

Proposed Laws Call for Improved NYC Construction Regulations
It seems like the construction is never ending in New York City. With round the clock construction, the city is no stranger to construction accidents and mistakes that can lead to serious injury – and sometimes even death.
In an effort to reduce the number of accidents occurring at New York City construction sites, there are new rules and regulations to improve construction safety. With better safety procedures, construction workers may experience fewer injuries.
What Changes Are Being Made?
There are more than 20 new laws being considered to improve regulations around New York City construction sites. While they have not been approved yet, these proposed law changes primarily look at regulations for buildings and for specific safety measures.
One of those laws discusses the need to have the same requirements on smaller buildings as they do on taller buildings. By adopting these same safety principles, New York City officials and politicians believe they can reduce the number of construction worker deaths.
Other regulations look at the trainings done before a construction worker can begin working on site. Through adding new processes and regulations for monitoring those training sessions, NYC decision makers hope to reduce the amount of careless mistakes made at a construction site.
Additional safety measures and equipment requirements have also been discussed. Adding new laws surrounding the state of equipment, who can operate the equipment and checkups on both the procedures and equipment being used can reduce the number of series injuries happening at a construction site.
Protecting Yourself from Injuries
Until these new laws take effect, construction workers are at high risk of being injured on the job. If you’ve been injured or you’ve lost a loved one to a careless mistake at a construction site, you can get the financial help you need by working with a personal injury attorney.
