In the matter of BG vs SPACE54, the Court held in favor of the Plaintiff and against SPACE54 for failing to return all the monies to a family who had contracted to hold a bar-mitzvah but whose event could not legally take place due to COVID restrictions enacted by Governor Cuomo. Due to SPACE54’s wrongdoing, the defendant will be required to return all the monies paid by the plaintiff plus statutory interest, together with costs and disbursements.
